For the Cecil Community Park project, Graham Projects served as the pavement art installer for construction firm Plano-Coudon building the dynamic public space design by Hord Coplan Macht and Parks & People. The project includes 12,000 square feet of custom pavement art that transformed the school’s outdoor space into a vibrant, welcoming environment. The design features a three-lane track surrounding a playground for young children, a sheltered picnic area, a fitness zone, and a large natural turf field. A smaller, two-lane track loops around a state-of-the-art playground highlighted by a treetop-like canopy. Near the school, abstract shapes visually connect the building to the yard, creating a cohesive design.

The Cecil Community Park pavement artwork is brought to life through six bold, carefully chosen colors applied using the highly durable StreetBond 120 epoxy-modified acrylic coating system. To achieve a polished and enduring finish, Graham Projects utilized a combination of application techniques, including texture spraying, backrolling, and brushwork for finer details. By offering StreetBond color samples for client review and approval, the team ensured every aspect of the artwork aligned seamlessly with the original design vision, while maintaining flexibility for adjustments.

The vibrant designs bring energy to the schoolyard, inspiring creativity, play, and community connection while showcasing the transformative power of pavement art for residents in East Baltimore Midway.

The Cecil Community Park was designed by Hord Coplan Macht based on community vision planning by Parks & People.
