The Maxwell BiblioFlow art crosswalk in Downtown Frederick, Maryland enhances pedestrian safety while connecting residents and visitors with and celebrating Downtown Frederick’s public library. As a work of public art, Maxwell BiblioFlow takes inspiration from the adjacent library and evokes playful eyes reading colorful book pages. The project improves pedestrian safety by visually highlighting the tight turn at Maxwell Avenue and Carroll Creek Way. The traffic safety public art unfolds like book pages leading participants from the nearby parking garage and sidewalks towards the public library. BiblioFlow’s dynamic colors and bold shapes humanize the alley as a place of pedestrian comfort and literary celebration.

Maxwell BiblioFlow was created with support from the Downtown Frederick Partnership, the City of Frederick (MD), and Frederick County Public Libraries.
